Competition in our industry is brutal
You have national companies blasting the TV and Airwaves and Online /Social Media venues and of course the trigger leads and low rate- i work in my basement type brokers. ( no offense)
THE BRUTAL REALITY IS THAT YOU CAN NEVER HAVE THE BEST RATES…
So what is the best way to compete and be successful in this business???
I am sure we have all asked ourselves this exact question repeatedly.
LOGIC SAYS—work harder- work for lower commissions - do whatever you have to do to get the deals.
MY SUGGESTION IS TO ACTUALLY STOP COMPETING … PERIOD!
Instead- try to separate yourself from the competition.. which you can do in 3 important ways…

HAVE EXPERTISE

Start with what happens at the first phone call- or email all the way to pre approval- application and settlement ( and after closing) experience they have with you and your team…COMMUNICATE
Return your calls
Initiate calls- as an example- one of my clients cd’s is due to be signed today
I called her- to let her know what to do and to contact the title company for their wire instructions
I called the agent - and sent him a copy so he can make sure his fees are accurate
This COULD have been just an email I sent- but it’s always good and IMPORTANT to speak with people as well.. that’s how you build loyalty and relationships.THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE
BE DIFFERENT@@@@ SO YOU HAVE NO COMPETITION
Have expertise in certain niches
Let everyone know about your expertise ( this could be … and is an entire course)
For example- I have expertise working with buyers who have had a bankruptcy
and if due to an extenuating circumstance- helping them 1 year after discharge instead of 2
I have expertise with clients going thru and after divorce
AND
expertise in renovation lending
All of these areas of expertise OPEN DOORS!!! since everyone else is out competing on rates or who’s ad budget is greatest
