I just got back from my local dry cleaners and on the way back it made think about a success principle I shared in the CRACKING THE AGENT CODE and WORKSHOP ON HOMEBUYER WORKSHOPS ..

To be successful with agents you must become their HABIT!
Sounds simple so let me explain
How many times have you met with an agent- that in and of itself is a challenge right?
The meeting went well-
Maybe they even give you a deal or pre-qual to work on…
IT GOES WELL- YOU ARE HAPPY- AND THEN THEY DISAPPEAR!
Weird- but there is an explanation - YOU ARE NOT YET THEIR HABIT…
So why did going to the cleaners remind me of this IMPORTANT PRINCIPLE..
I moved from Baltimore to Florida and was searching for a dry cleaner among many other thing including doctor- etc.
I get a coupon in the mail from a dry cleaner that says-
NEW CUSTOMERS- FIRST VISIT FREE - up to 10 pants/skirts and tops
Second Visit- 50% Off
Third Visit -33% off
Science of human nature tells us that once you go there 3 times it becomes your habit— and it’s true ! I think dry cleaner and I go there.. it’s automatic now.
THAT’S WHAT YOU NEED TO DO WITH YOUR AGENTS…
I hear loan officers constantly saying agents aren’t loyal and other deragatory things..
The truth is you are not YET their habit-
They need to actually send you a buyer and close deals with you — for you to become their habit ( and have a relationship)
NOW HOW DO YOU GET THEM TO MAKE YOU THEIR HABIT?
I covered that in depth over 2 days in the Cracking The Agent Code WOrkshop … and I am already hearing the success stories from the originators who attended…
but let me just share a few ideas here
1. Give them something they can use to generate new business—
Like a $500 off closing costs for THEIR clients- not generic- an actual certificate with both of your names and photos on it
Do some joint marketing with them-
Do a Homebuyer WOrkshop - Put it on autopilot -and let them promote it to their leads and new prospects- then call them every week to go over the list of clients who watched it the previous week ..
There are many more ways to MAKE THEM YOUR HABIT- too long to cover here but I don’t want you to miss the point—
