Let me ask you a question what do you think is one of the most important qualities an originator can have?

There are many things that contribute to my success and the success of all of us as originators but the one thing that truly separates a great originator from just a good one is communication.

Do you communicate enough?

Communication makes buyers and agents happy . You need to communicate the good news quickly and you need to relay the issues or bad news even faster

Do you let the agents know when you've taken a loan app and how it went

Do you let the agents know when you've pre-approved the buyer they referred?

Do you let the listing agent and selling agent know what's happening on their files each week?

Do you followup with buyers after you've pre-qual them or issued a pre-approval letter or do you just assume they're gonna call you?

Communication is critical to your success it lets everyone know you care

and that you are on top of your business

while we're on the subject I feel that I really should mention that while we all seem to communicate via email you know it's often a great idea to just pick up the phone and make your communication personal
