Let me share with you some thoughts I have been having lately-
Just like you - if we are being really honest- I have always had a love- hate relationship with this business…
In my 35 years I have dealt with all the ups and downs- and came into the business being bad in math and knowing ZERO about the business..
LESSON- IF YOU ARE A BROKER OR ORIGINATOR YOU HAVE TO STOP THINKING OF YOURSEF AS WORKING FOR A COMPANY..
IN REALITY — AS A COMMISSIONED SALES PERSON YOU ARE WORKING FOR YOURSELF- AND YOU ARE THE BRAND- THAT YOU CAN PICK UP AND TAKE WHEREVER YOU LIKE!!!
The company I worked for as an example was just sold and now I am working for a new company- but my agents- and referral sources don’t really care!
They are still dealing with me… regardless of what the sign on the door says.
Here’s what’s been going thru my mind- not sure if I will pull the trigger- but probably will..
I AM GREAT AT LEAD GENERATION AND RELATIONSHIP BUILDING…
Not saying that to be jerk- but it is CRITICAL that you know what you like and don’t like doing and what your strengths and weaknesses are…
So I am considering building teams—
Finding originators who are very good and competent originators but aren’t able to generate the leads and relationships
I would set up a system in the 5 states I am liscensed in that provides the team members with those leads daily…
I would then manage them and the process - but most would be set up on autopilot with workshops- videos and other social media and direct mail outreach.. plus of course some PR..
