Mindset Monday- What Loan Officers Can Learn From My Dogs
This is one of the keys to growing your production
We have 3 dogs-
They are cute- Baxter is the Shishon- Charlie is the mini golden doodle and Sophie is a shorkie.
They are pretty smart and for the most part really good dogs
EXCEPT FOR BAXTER-
Baxter for some reason refuses to make outside- I can take him for a very long 30 minute walk- and he will still come in the house and do his business..
So we decided to gate off certain areas of the house to make sure he is confined..
These gates are free standing and NOT attached to the walls but they are heavy and hard to move.
STAY WITH ME HERE- PROMISE THERE IS A LESSON HERE FOR YOU!T
Last week I watched as each of them took turns moving the gate and pushing it
For over 1 hour they continued- a little bit at a time until finally they had moved it enough for all of them to get past the gate and freedom from their perspective.
THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT WE NEED TO DO WITH OUR MARKETING!
There is an old saying that most give up RIGHT BEFORE SUCCESS could happen.
WHEN AN AGENT SAYS NO— THEY PROBABLY DON’T REALLY MEAN IT
What they mean is that you have NOT sufficiently proven how you can help me sell more homes…
Because after all - that’s all an agent really wants to do - sell more homes.
SO WHAT’S THE PLAN…??
There is no substitute for PERSISTENCE…
NO ONE GETS MARRIED ON THEIR FIRST DATE
AND NO AGENT IS GOING TO PARTNER WITH YOU ON THE FIRST MEETING….
You may need the persistence just to get that first meeting …..
Put them on your mailing list
Put them on your email list
Drip some great information to them
Find ways to offer them value- like co branded flyers- software tools that help them
Open house spread sheets
Information that will help them sell more homes - like persuasion tactics
Done for you social media postings
Offer to host a broker open
Offer to a joint podcast
Offer to do a homebuyer workshop with them.

PERSISTENCE AND CONSISTENCY~!!!!!
You know what they say about the girls that go all out on the first date???
Think about that-
If that agent is marrying you on the first date- she’s probably pretty easy and that relationship won’t be long term- It will only last until the next LO approaches her..
The ones that require persistence- are the keepers !! since most will give up contacting them after the first or second try
TARGET THE RIGHT AGENTS
THEN STAY ON THEM BY BRING VALUE !!!!
