Today is Ground Hog day and I believe we are in for six more weeks of winter. Just looking out my window here in Baltimore I see about 7 - 8 inches of snow but those of you in the New York tri state area are getting FEET of snow…. hope you are safe.
Many years ago Bill Murray stared in a great movie called Ground Hog Day. If you haven’t seen it and its snowing were you are - go ahead and rent it..
IT REMINDS ME OF HOW YOU AND I APPROACH OUR BUSINESS.
Not to give away too much of the story but he repeats the same day over and over again…
I bet you feel you do too… so the question is how to change it and put the odds in your favor…
LET’S BREAK IT DOWN
We hate rate shoppers yet we use marketing techniques that attract them…
Solution- Become the expert in a niche and use tools that attract them to you for your expertise.
As an example- becoming a local celebrity- this allows you to show your expertise
and the truth is that most clients ask you first about rates because they have no way other way to compare you… and view you as a commodity
Another example- when you are an expert in a niche- and offer a program most others are not able to - or have an area of expertise most originators don’t have -the rate question also goes away
We hate chasing realtors and are frustrated trying to figure out how to get in touch with them and then how to make them use us and stay loyal…
Solution- teach them— create classes that can get approved for continuing credit hours thru your local board of realtors- teach the class- and they will see you as an expert and build a relationship with you
Another example- send weekly status updates to listing agents throughout
talk to them and after the loan closes suggest you do a meeting or zoom. Then drip on them weekly with your updates and useful information.

Once again as an expert people expect you to be busy
Clearly state your hours on website - signature line and voicemail messages..
But the biggest AHA- is to use tools that get buyers sold on using your services, feeling like they know you - and like you
BEFORE THEY EVEN SPEAK WITH YOU…
