LABOR DAY AND LOAN OFFICERS
If you ever felt you work too hard and aren't earning what you should.. pay attention
Happy Labor Day!
Our job as originators is both mental and physical labor and I wanted to share some short cuts with you especially today.
When we are “busy” we are all working very hard with lots of stress to make sure our loan apps get taken- processed - approved and closed.
When things are slow - we are also very mentally stressed and working hard to “Make it Happen” and bring in new deals.
But have you every stopped to think about why there are dips and peaks?
It’s not because of rates or the economic climate.
Its more about what you do ….. or don’t do and how you have set up the foundation of your business.
Some question you SHOULD BE asking yourself..
AM I REALTIONSHIP BASED - OR JUST TRANSACTONAL
AM I SET UP TO HAVE BUSINESS CHASING ME - OR AM I ELEGANTLY BEGGING
IS MY BUSINESS SET UP TO FUNCTION WITHOUT ME INVOLVED EVERY SECOND OF EVERY DAY
WHY SHOULD PEOPLE DO BUSINESS WITH ME INSTEAD OF ANYONE ELSE
THE BIGGEST QUESTION OF ALL…. WHAT IS MY HOUR WORTH?
EXAMPLE
you want to earn 100,000
you want to work 40 hours a week ( yes that can be done in this business!!!)
You also want to take 2 weeks off
YOU WILL WORK 2000 HOURS- YOU WILL EARN 100,000
SO YOUR HOUR IS WORTH 50.00
Now you have to ask yourself each hour—- is what I am doing 50.00 an hour work or not?
SIMPLE- BUT CRITICALLY IMPORTANT TO YOUR SUCCESS
STOP
go ahead and take out a sheet of paper and do the exercise… seriously!!!
Knowing what your hour is worth is really just the beginning of being able to close more -make more and have the income and time to still enjoy life…
It will help you decide what to do - and more importantly WHO should do it…
It should NOT always be you !!
